Error Creating a New Job


Applies to: Microsoft SQL Server 2005.


Error Message.

Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.SimpleObjectKey' to type
'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Agent.JobObjectKey'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

 

 


Problem Description.

This problem occurs right after you applied Service Pack 2 (SP2) on SQL Server, and you are trying to create a new job from a remote station that have a client tools with Service Pack 1 or without any service pack.


Solution.

Install SP2 on the remote station, this way client tools will be updated.
