Problem Description.
We ran into this warning message on a HP Proliant DL360 G4 Intel Xeon Processor
3.40 Ghz, 4 GB DDR SDRAM, Smart Array 6i, with Windows Server 2000 SP4
installed.
The server just stopped responding and we were not able to connect to the server
using Remote Desktop. We had to force the shutdown then restart it.
Cause.
The storage subsystem may be the origin of the problem. This error may be caused
by a battery failure on the Smart Array or failure on the disk drives.
Solution.
In our case, we removed and replaced all disk drives of the array and the
warning did not appear again.
However, we suggest you follow the following steps:
1) Download and apply the latest firmware to the Smart Array.
2) Open the HP Integrated Management Log (IML).
3) If you find any errors contact HP support.
