This Recordset Is Not Updatable.

Applies to: Microsoft Access 2000 project using an existing SQL Server 2005 SP2 database.

Problem Description.
 

When you try to update, delete or insert a record on a table in an Access Project, Microsoft Access beeps, then you receive the following error in the status bar:

This recordset is not updatable.






 

Cause.


The table you are trying to update does not have primary key or a unique index.

 

Solution.


Create a primary key or a unique index on the table.
