SSMS 17.0 crashes while installing Event Name CLR20r3.

While installing SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 17.0 you may find SSMS setup crashes with the following error messages:

Cause.


Things need to fixed or repair with .NET Framework that is a software requirement for installing SQL Server Management Studio.


Solution.


Download the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool from here and then run it to repair .NET Framework and be able then to install SSMS again.
